Sant Jordi rose

The writer Josep Pla said that "the only thing missing from roses to be perfect is to be edible". Well, if we spin our baboia wheel, here we have the ice cream version: an original variant of the traditional rose to give as a gift or to give to yourself for Sant Jordi. The festivity of Sant Jordi is a day that is celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm and joy in Catalonia. On April 23, the streets of the cities and towns are crowded with people and stalls selling books and roses. It is about celebrating the patron saint of Catalonia and perpetuating this tradition based on love and culture. Nothing better than a good ice cream to enjoy in company on such a romantic day – here's to love!

Did you know...

Did you know that part of the facade of Casa Batlló, located on Passeig de Gràcia in Barcelona, is inspired by the legend of Sant Jordi? Like many other artists, Gaudí was passionate about this legend and that's why he wanted to reflect the dragon's back (take a look at the roof tiles that resemble scales) on Casa Batlló, as well as Sant Jordi’s four-armed sword and the princess' balcony, which is shaped like a flower.
