Carrot and orange, from Valencia with love

Although oranges are grown in Catalonia, the Valencian orange is an icon.
Adding carrot gives the ice cream a more vivid colour and a slight sweetness.
Carrot is orange's soul mate, they are a perfect power couple – together they form an unbeatable cocktail of nutrients and flavour.

Did you know...

that carrots weren’t always orange? If there is a place in the Born neighbourhood where they know of carrots and oranges (and more!), it's Santa Caterina Market. You can walk there from Baboia while you tuck into your ice cream: it's easy to find and you'll spot it immediately from its most emblematic element: a colourful 325,000-piece mosaic canopy reproducing the colours of the fruit and vegetable stalls that used to populate the squares of Barcelona, reminiscent of the ‘trencadís’ shardware that characterises the works of the world-famous architect Gaudí.
